Although the winter did not truly came to Austin this year, the last day of February marks in my mind the end of winter. Soon March will bring fields of wildflowers to the Hill Country and amazing motorcycle rides. But today a farewell to winter reminded me this beauty short poem of Robert Frost - my beloved English language poet.

The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued
Snow dust - Robert Frost
Sposób, w jaki wrona
strząsnęła pył śnieżny
na moje ramiona,
z świerkowej gałęzi,
odmianę zapalił
w sercu mym bez słowa
i część dnia ocalił,
któregom żałował.
Przełożyła Ludmiła Marjańska
Sposób, w jaki byłem,
Przechodząc pod sosną,
Ośnieżony pyłem
Przez wronę – z pewnością
Taktu w sobie nie miał
Zbyt wiele, lecz sercu
Przywrócił dzień, niemal
Pozbawiony sensu
Przełożył Stanisław Barańczak
